From Montgomery Vindicator: Gatlinburg Boy Has Part in Play
Berea, Ky, Feb. 11, 1933
Recently Orville Oakley, son of Wiley Oakley of Gatlinburg, played the part of the gentlemen in the famous play “Abraham Lincoln” by John Drinkwater, given before a large audience in Berea College. He took part in the theater scene in which Lincoln was assassinated. Orville is a member of the Hi-Y, an organization which promotes ideals of Christian living. “Abraham Lincoln” was directed by Frank H. Smith who visited Gatlinburg a year ago with the Berea Opportunity School.
