Carmer Peterson Cochran, age 97 of Maryville, passed away Monday, December 31, 2001 at U.T. Medical Center. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church for 84 years.
Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil H. Cochran; parents, John H. and Phoebe B. Peterson; brothers, Rotha (Dock) Peterson and Jeff Warricks; sisters, Carrie Johnson, Bergia Cochran and Beatrice Byrd.
Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, John M. Cochran and wife, Jill and Charles G. Cochran and wife Mary Jo all of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene Kerley and husband Jack; daughters, Edna Maples and Eleanor Denton both of Maryville, Dale Montgomery of Greenback; special grandson, Marion Maples of Maryville; grandchildren, Charlene West of Louisville, Norma Bell of Maryville, Marsha Taylor of Crawford, TN., Jill Renee Kerley Ferguson of Knoxville; 11 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Dr. Marvin Gass and Rev. Lee A. Hokaj officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Binfield United Methodist Church, where she taught a Sunday School Class for Seventeen Years or to U.T. Hospice. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
