Amos Decator Bohanan, 93, of Sevierville went home to be with the ones who are waiting for him in heaven on November 27, 2002. He began his journey at his residence.
Decator was a former member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church and later joining the Parton’s Church of God.
His daughter, Laura Ogle; parents, Mark and Matilda Plemons Bohanan; brothers, Russell, Dave, Levi, Otha, Lee and Walter Bohanan; sisters, Laura, Bessie, Emmer, and Beola preceded Mr. Bohanan in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Isabelle Gibson Bohanan; children, Louise Branch, Frank Bohanan and wife Ina Ruth, Clayton Bohanan and wife Brenda; brother, Oscar Bohanan; sisters, Annie Trotter and Martha Gilbert; son-in-law, Roy Ogle. Besides the immediate family, his special caregivers, Sue and Pinkie Shults and Chris Casias and many loving relatives and a host of friends will miss Decator.
Service will be 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 29 at Rawlings Funeral Home with Rev. King and Rev. Harold Parton officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30 at Middle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 29 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
Kenneth Carr, Roy Lynn Baxter, Eugene Branch, J.B. Branch, Junior Bohanan and James Bohanan are honored to serve as pallbearers for Mr. Bohanan.
Honorary pallbearers are Teddy Joe Ogle, Dennis Branch, Billy Carr and Loy Dale Branch.
