Mrs. Ruby Mae West Sane, 88, of Newport, passed away Monday, September 11, 2006, at Baptist Convalescent Center. Until failing health, Ruby was an active member of Gregg's Chapel Church. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, John Harvey and Ollie Ruth Davis West, and her step-father, John J. Sisk. She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, George Earl Sane; a son, Charles Westy Sane; brothers, Westly Lee and John Daniel West; and sister, Hazel West. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Sharlene Sane, of Newport; daughter, Violet Willis, of Newport; a very special grandson, David Wade; other grandchildren include Ruby Catherine Lafollette, of Callahan, Fla.; Virginia Mae Gray, of LaGrange, N.C.; Clifford Sane Jr., of Sevierville; and Christy Williams, of Dandridge; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Additional survivors include three step-children, a special half-sister, Mary West Wyatt, of Asheville, N.C.; and a special friend, Al Shaver. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, September 13, 2006, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Fred Gregg and Rev. Dana Walker officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be David Wade, Clifford Sane Jr., Edward Cruz, Ralph Williams, Al Shaver, Liston Sane, Christopher Osborne, Ronald Downs, and Matthew Downs. Family and friends will meet Thursday, September 14, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home to go in procession to Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery for the 12:00 p.m. interment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening prior to the service. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
