Mary Lee Lance, age 74 of Maryville, born in Greenback, died Friday, June 10, 2005 at Asbury Acres Healthcare Center. She was of the Baptist Faith. She retired from Bowater and also worked as a Nurse at Asbury Acres Health Care Center. Preceded in death by: husband, John Jay Lance; sons, James Douglas and Gary Lee Cable; parents, Roy and Myrtle Medlin. Survivors include: daughters, Shelia Dianne (Cable) Ely and husband James B. of Maryville and Sharron Cable of Maryville; grandchildren, Scott Starritt and wife Kariny, Jason Starritt, Kim Sizemore and husband Jeff, Stacy Jenkins and husband Benny all of Maryville, James Ely of Kentucky; brother and sister-in-law, Roy Medlin Jr. and wife Janice; sisters, Rosa Vaden and Iva Medlin both of Maryville, Ruby Spangler and husband Earl of Greenback. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2005 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Shane Bonham officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2005 at Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment.
