Sandra (Hancox) Fox, age 74 of Maryville passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Kindred Health Care. She was born on July 10, 1938 on Cherokee Street in Maryville, TN. Sandra was raised in the Oakview Community, went to Oakview Elementary School and graduated from Porter High School in 1956. She was also a graduate of Cooper Business Institute in Knoxville and worked in the Blount County Courthouse in various offices including the School Superintendent office for several years. She married Rex Fox at Central Point Baptist Church in Rockford in 1959 by the Rev. M.L. White. Sandra received Jesus Christ at an early age at Oakview Baptist Church. She was currently a member of Alcoa First Baptist Church. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister to all her family. Preceded in death by her father, William Clarence Hancox, Sr.; mother, Anna Hancox; nephew, Billy Hancox; Survivors include her husband, Rex Fox; daughter, Jackie Palmer; son –in-law, Randy Palmer; grandchildren, Zane Palmer, Raine Palmer, and Claire Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, William Clarence (Bill) Hancox, Jr. and Polly Hancox; sister, Doris Bivens; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Kindred Healthcare, nurse practitioner, Susan Johnston, and Ganna Kidd. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Michael Moore officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000, www.SmithMaryville.com.
