Maudina V. Lewis, 70, of Newport, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, at her daughter’s home in Murfreesboro following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church.
Maudina was preceded in death by her husband, James Lyle Lewis; granddaughter, Terri Jo Stuart; and sister, Iva Cameron.
She is survived by children, Clifford Lewis of Newport, Juanita and husband, George Slaven of Murfreesboro, Emma Kate and husband, Fred Dyke, and Janelle and husband, Eugene Wright, all of Newport; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Claude Valentine, Fred Valentine, Pedro Valentine, and Donnie Valentine; and sisters, Betty Lesley, Martha Linkus, Lygatha France, Vadda Queen, and a very special sister, Mary Brown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at Brown Funeral Home between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The service will be Wednesday, December 2, at Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. John E. Brown officiating. Interment at Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church Cemetery.
Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
