Audrey Louise Best age 82 of Auburn passed away Feb. 29 2000 in Oxnard after a brief illness.
Mrs. Best was born Dec. 6 1917 in Maryville Tenn. and had been a Ventura County resident for 30 years and a resident of Auburn for 21 years. She was the manager of Twin Pines Convalescent Hospital for 14 years and worked at the Santa Paula High School Health Office for 14 years. Mrs. Best was a member of the Santa Paula Optimist Club and was very active in Auburn Bell Road Baptist Church and AARP in Auburn.
She is survived by her husband Ray Best of Auburn; daughter Joyce (husband William) Hart of Camarillo; sons David Randall (wife Barbara) Best of Ventura and Carl E. (wife Janet) Best of Sacramento; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Imogene Kerr of Maryville Tenn. Etheleen Clabough of Maryville Tenn.; and brothers Vernon Moore of Maryville Tenn. and Clinton Moore of Maryville Tenn.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 4 at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary Santa Paula with the Rev. Merle Lehman officiating. Burial will be at Santa Paula Cemetery Santa Paula.
Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary Santa Paula.
