WAY, GLENN MELCOY born August 16, 1919 to Clarence Cylvester and Mary Vivian Chappell Way (later Kirkley) left this life, Friday, November 24, 2006. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City. Glenn achieved the Scottish Rite 32 Degree and KCCH 2nd York Rite Commandery Degree as a Commander of Knights Templar of the Knight Crusaders of the Cross as a Life Member, Past Commander of Chevalier Commandery No. 21 and a Life Sponsor of the Knight Templar Eye Foundation. He was Past Master of Kerbela Shrine Temple, Past Master of Avery Lodge No. 593, honorary member of Tennessee Lodge No. 204, George Washington Lodge No. 181, Greenback Lodge No. 691 and numerous others. Glenn was a fifty year member of Avery Masonic Lodge No. 593 F & AM and Loudon Chapter No. 138 Royal Arch Mason. Glenn was appointed Grand Representative of Mississippi Royal Arch Mason. He was also a former member of the International Association of Lions Clubs and was presented the 100% President Award in 1996 for his outstanding work. He was cited by Tennessee Governor Ned McWherter for contributions to the 1996 Tennessee statehood bicentennial celebration. Glenn was the recipient of numerous other civic awards for his work. He was retired from ORNL. He is survived by his wife of twenty two years, Louise Phelps (McNabb) Way; daughters, Glenda Davidson and husband, Edward, Shirley Pointer and husband, Oscar; sons, Richard Way and wife, Mae, Everette P. Way; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; stepchildren, Glenda L. Shaw and Joseph N. McNabb. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dick DeMerchant officiating. A Masonic service will follow conducted by the Avery Masonic Lodge No. 593 F & AM. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services. In lieu flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children 1900 Richmond Rd. Lexington, Ky. 40502.
