HOPEDALE - Bobby Ray Frye , 55, of rural Hopedale died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday (March 3, 1990) at Hopedale Nursing Home. He had been in failing health for two years.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Davis Mortuary, Hopedale, the Rev. Keith Thibo officiating. Burial will be in Orendorff Cemetery, Hopedale.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
He was born March 8, 1934, in Townsend, Tenn., a son of Dan and Barbara Moore Frye . He married Carolyn Skotnicki June 18, 1953, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Tennessee; three sons, Danny and Bobby Jr., both of Hopedale; and Stan, 203 S. Evans St., Bloomington; five daughters, Donna Robinson, Woodhull; Karen Frye , 901 W. Grove St., Bloomington; Barb Bullard and Brenda Epps, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Cathy Hopkins, Pekin; 12 grandchildren; seven brothers, Donald Bruce Frye , Metamora; William Frye , Marquette Heights; James Winferd Frye , Louisiana; Roger Frye , Johnny Frye and Charles Frye , all of Tennessee; and Gary Frye , East Peoria; and four sisters, Lucille McClure, Deer Creek; Colleen Huskey, Judy McGill and Marcia Messick, all of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Frye was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 37 years. He was a machinist and last worked July 1988. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 974 in East Peoria.
