Schwan, Barney, 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 in Plano, TX. Memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at 3:30 p.m., Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, 6555 E. Central, Wichita. Barney was born in St. Louis, MO on June 30, 1918. An employee of Anheuser-Busch, he moved to Wichita in 1960 to start the local Anheuser-Busch wholesalership, the House of Schwan. Barney is survived by his wife Bette, of Plano, TX, sons Bob (Nancy) of Santa Fe, NM, and Barry (Cindy) of Wichita, step-daughters Kathy (Bob) Cameron of Grapevine, TX and Susan Smith of Plano, TX, grandsons Dan of Lamar, MO, Brian (Ashleigh) and Devon of Wichita, Jeremy Haas of Kansas City, KS, granddaughters Mallory of Wichita, Beth (Mark) Hall of Keller, TX, Stephanie and Amanda Smith of Plano, TX, Jordan Holmes of Wichita, six great-grandchildren, and cousin Loretta Trapp of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter Deborah Holmes of Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established at the Lord's Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, 67214, and the Wichita Junior Golf Foundation, 58 Via Verde, Wichita 67230.
