U.S. Veteran George M. Gregg, age 83, of Sevier County, TN passed away September 23, 2011 surrounded by his family. Born February 22, 1928 in Cocke County, TN to the late Goodson and Mary Jane Worex Gregg. His love of Gospel Music and Guitars carried through out his life. He was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel, Paul and Alfred Gregg; sister, Stella Gregg Willis. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Louise Chesteen Gregg; brother Fred Gregg; sister Susie Gregg Barton both of Newport; sister, Daisy Gregg Underwood of Strawberry Plains; son, Dennis R. Gregg; daughters, Kathy J. Busic and husband, James, Krystal J. Shults, and Zena D. Catlett and husband, Leon all of Sevier County; grandchildren; Rebecca Gregg McGaha and husband, Scott of Cocke County; Kailey Gregg, Ryan Gregg and wife, Ashley, Jacob Seagle, Ami Sneed Johns, Sandra Lambert and husband, Dusty, Brandon Gilliam and wife, June all of Sevier County; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Aidan McGaha of Cocke County, Xavier and Liam Gregg, Jennifer and Lee Johns, Olivia and John Lambert, Colton and Saphire Gilliam, Conner Catlett, Joshua Harmon; great-great granddaughter Khloey Johns all of Sevier County. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Manes Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Gregg officiating. Burial will be held at 9:30 am Monday, September 26, 2011 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Knox County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, September 25, 2011 prior to funeral. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
