PATTERSON - age 79, of Knoxville, entered into eternal rest on April 14, 2012 at Parkwest Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Patterson; her husband of 57 years, Dewey Mack Owens (Uncle Mack); two sons, Rodney Alan and Gary Lynn Owens; and brother, William Patterson. Layla is survived by sons, Mack Jr. and wife Mary of Knoxville, Randy and wife Kelly of Cuba, Greg and wife Sabrina of NC, and Rodger; special friend, Renee of KY; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. Family and friends will meet Monday, April 23, 2012, 1:15 p.m. at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Lyons View Pike for a 1:30 p.m. interment. A celebration of life will be held at Rocky's on Amherst Road following interment. Layla will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
