Earl Hatcher, age 71, of Townsend, member and choir director of Friendly Hill Baptist Church in Townsend, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nettie Alice and Decatur Thomas Hatcher; twin brother, Burl; sister, Ida Jean; sister-in-law, Margaret Hatcher; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fred and Lillie Davis; sister-in-law, Beulah Ann Davis; brothers-in-law, Larry Davis and Dewey Hurst. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alma Sue Davis Hatcher; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Jennifer Darlene Smiley Hatcher; grandchildren, Joshua Aaron and Rebekah Sue Hatcher all of Townsend; sister, Eva Hurst Hatcher of Sevierville and Sam and Dollie Henry of Pigeon Forge; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margaret Davis of Greenback, Judy Burger of Madisonville, Kathy and Lonnie Neely of Greenback, Pat and Horace Brown of Newport; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Joyce Davis, Lacy and Denese Davis all of Townsend, Leon and Barbara Davis of Robinsville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday September 25, 2011 at Friendly Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Caylors Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Harrison Hill and Rev. Fate Green officiating.
