CANUPP , JUANITA 88, of Kingston, TN passed away October 20, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Canupp was born May 19, 1922 in Sevier County, TN to John & Hannah King Ellis . Mrs. Canupp was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kingston. She was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving as a nurse in the U.S. Navy. Mrs. Canupp was a former school teacher and a strong Christian who loved Jesus and enjoyed nature. She graduated from Hiwassee College and the University of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Michael Canupp , Sr.; son, Furman Arthur Canupp . Survivors include: sons John Michael Canupp , Jr. of Kingston, TN, George Ellis Canupp of Kingston, TN; 3 granddaughters Judith Renee Canupp of Madisonville, TN, Buffy Michelle Bell of Knoxville, TN, Chasity Joy Larkin of Luling, TX; great-grandson Curtis Adam Mendoza of San Antonia, TX; sister Margaret G. Gerri Kivett of Knoxville, TN; special friends Marylee Hart- Canupp of Knoxville, TN, Vicki Canupp of Kingston, TN, Jane Van Slooten of MI; host of nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 3 - 4 pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Kingston. The service will follow at 4 pm with Pastor Jeff Plemons and officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be sent to Amedisys Hospice, 1420 Dutch Valley Road, Suite C, Knoxville, TN 37918. An online registry is available at www.evansmortuary.net.
