    James Boyd had a 316 acre farm on Nails Creek in the 13th District in Blount
    Co., adjoining John Henry, on the "Old Kirkpatrick Farm", James C. Shadden,
    William McCleery, Elijah Brown and James Porter. After the death of James' son
    Campbell Boyd on 19 Jan. 1851, his undivided one-tenth share of this property
    "subject to the dower of his mother Hannah Boyd" was sold at public vendue by
    court decree to his brother James A. Boyd for $30.00.
