HOUK/TARWATER - James B. HOUK married Lucinda Price 15 March 1864 in Knoxville, TN. They had seven children. Lucinda was born 1847; James was born 1831 in Knoxville. Lucinda died 1913 in Knoxville. My grandmother, Effie HOUK was born 1883, Knoxville. My grandfather, Bart TARWATER, was born 1880 (Knoxville?) His parents were Jacob Anderson TARWATER and Hester Price TARWATER, no dates. My mother, Alice Mae TARWATER Hancock was born Nov. 1910 according to the family Bible but court records say Jan 3, 1911. Alice died Mar 21, 1958. I am looking for my grandparents' grave and date of death. There are no records of Effie after Alice was born, 1911. No record of Bart Anderson TARWATER after about 1920. Any leads appreciated. ELIZABETH (SWAN) HOWARD - I am trying to determine if the ELIZABETH SWAN who married John HOWARD as found in the Internet site, "Smoky Mountain Ancestral Quest", is the same ELIZABETH SWAN HOWARD that later may have married Smith Jonathan Bemiss in my family tree. The date of her birth on the website is (1817) similar to the date I have (1820). I've been searching for her for some time as I haven't been able to find more than one child by her and Smith J. Bemiss. Thank you for any assistance. Michael S. Bemiss, 5449 S. Washington St., North East, PA 16428, ph 814-434-8801, email: rasheman123@hotmail.com
