POTTER - James POTTER was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He raised his family in Cocke County. His children migrated west, and in the late 1830's he moved to Clay County, MO to be with them. The names of his offspring were: William, Joshua, Wilson, Eldridge,(born 24 Oct. 1791), Nathaniel (26 Dec. 1800), Bentley (16 Oct. 1807), John, Samuel (15 Feb. 1810), and Sarah. I have only one piece of information showing James living with Bentley in Platte Co. MO in 1840. Is there information showing James' family while living in TN? Court houses here were burned during the Civil War as was Cocke County's, but I am hoping through the Society's research that you may have uncovered something that may be of value in my endeavor to link my ancestors together. BREEDEN/LOVEDAY - William M. BREEDEN born 1839 married 1858 in Sevier County to Darcus Ann LOVEDAY, who was born 1841. Moved to Monroe County then to Whitfield County, GA (Cohutta) in 1880. Is this the William who was a brother to Bryant, Adetha and Emily? Who were William's parents? Were Darcus' mother and father George and Delilah LOVEDAY? THE SMOKY MOUNTAIN RAILROAD - I have a copy of The Gentle Winds of Change: A History of Sevier County, Tennessee 1900-1930. On page 68 the Smoky Mountain Railroad is mentioned. STRAIN/ROSE - I descend from Rhoda STRAIN, born ca.1808, whose likely brother, Thomas Jefferson STRAIN, was born Cocke Co.ca.1810. Rhoda STRAIN John ROSE ca.1823. They lived in Sangammon County, IL in1830, and Benton County, AR in 1840. John ROSE died in 1844. Rhoda lived in Barry and McDonald Counties, MO until after 1880 with her subsequent husbands, John Carter and _____Wetsel. John ROSE is thought to be the son of Francis ROSE, born ca.1775-84, of Buncombe and Haywood Counties, NC. Some of Francis ROSE's children lived in McMinn and Monroe Counties, TN. SEVIER - Can anyone provide me with a list of John SEVIER's children? I understand he married Sarah Hawkins and they had 7 children And after her death he married Anne Sherrill and had more children. In three different libraries, I found a biography of John SEVIER which was supposed to have his genealogy as an appendix. In all three cases, the genealogy had been rather crudely removed with a knife or razor blade. I do not understand the mentality of folks who would do such a thing. Betty H. FRAZIER/CROWLEY - My paternal grandmother, Annie Lee FRAZIER, born ca.1890-93, married Carl Allen CROWLEY in 1917 or 1918. DOBKINS - Thomas B. DOBKINS was born 1781 in E. TN. According to family tradition He married Mary Brickey after her first husband, John McAdams died (date unknown.). Their first child, John, was born 20 Jan.1811. They moved to MO in 1817 with Mary's father, Girrard, and several other Brickeys. Thomas died 1822 in Washington, Co., MO and Mary died in Crawford Co., MO in 1858. Thomas, John and Evan DOBKINS received E.TN Land Grants on Dunn's Creek in Sevier Co. in 1810. Evan possibly was Thomas' father; if not, then it very likely was Reuben DOBKINS in Jefferson Co. I would like to hear from anyone with information about this family. Have been unable to establish a connection with present YARBERRYS in Sevier Co.,. area. We know that one son, Albert, married Malinda HURST, and their son, Albert Jr. married Priscilla BLAIR. LONG - John LONG and his family moved to Sevier County in 1799-1800. John was born 18 Nov. 1749 in Lancaster, PA, and he died 18 Jan. 1832 in TN. He married Mary Haynes 3 Aug. 1772 in Bedford Co., VA. Their 15 children, who relocated with them, were all born in Bedford Co. Children of John and Mary are:

on the remaining people. Lee and Niclass left TN with Lee going
to PA and the best information I have says Niclass ended up in
