LOST GRAVE INFO NEEDED - Trying to find more info on “Nancy’s” grave on Bote Mountain - the trail from Laurel Road to Spence Field. The story is that a girl from Cades Cove runs away with a boy from Hazel Creek, or both from Eagle Creek, NC; Father of girl follows, kills girl, buries her there; both were confederates, father Union. Or, boy is Union, the father is Confederate. Wounded boy returns to Eagle Creek. The grave is supposed to be located off Bote Mountain Trail between Sandy Gap and Spence Trail, Cades Cove area of Blount County. The grave is mentioned on Park cemetery lists. Will appreciate any info on the exact location of the grave and verification of the story. Thanks! Gail Palmer, P0 Box 684, Alcoa, TN 37701 Email: lpalmer@utk.edu
