LEWIS - Trying to find the father of Martin LEWIS who was born 28 November 1812 in Newport, Cocke County, Tennessee. He married Winnie Allen who was born 22 August 1816 in Newport. Their first born son was Felix Grundy LEWIS, born 8 October 1836 in Newport. Martin's father may have been from Virginia. Martin possibly had an older brother named Leith, born about l790-1795 in Virginia. Leith was married to Leannah Brown. Any info would be appreciated. McMAHAN/POLLARD - I am seeking info on James McMAHAN 1813-186_: Tennessee; Married Louisa M. POLLARD, 1818-__ in St. Clair County, Alabama about 1835. They are in 1840 Cherokee County, Alabama; 1850 Blount County, Tennessee; 1860 Grayson County, Texas. James died 1860/70; Louisa died 1890/1900. HICKS - I'm researching my g-g grandfather, David John HICKS, born about 1839/41 in Sevier County. He married Mary Ann Tyson in Sevier County on 30 Dec 1857. McMAHAN - Interested in David Crockett McMAHAN, the last child of Archibald Redman McMAHAN. David married a Mary Large. I would like to locate Johnny Scott Large who contributed to the SMHS Newsletter in 1983, and would like to hear from descendants of Archibald, and also from descendants of McMAHAN/McNulty marriage. BLACK/MORGAN/HATCHER - Seeking parents, g-parents and siblings of Nancy HATCHER, Esther BLACK and Martha MORGAN. Nancy Ann HATCHER married Flayl Nichols on 4 January 1780 in Bedford County, Virginia. Children of this union were Sarah, Martha, Rhoda, John, Jesse, Simon, William, Robert and Edward. Esther V.BLACK was born 7 November 1790 in Blount County, Tennessee. She was the wife of John Nichols, son of Flayl and Nancy HATCHER Nichols. John and Esther's children were Vance, Joshua, Alexander, Flail, Jane, Nancy, Martha, Joseph, Mary, and John. Martha Jane MORGAN was born 24 July 1838 in North Carolina. Her first marriage, to Payton W. Heath produced a daughter Sarah, born about 1859. Martha's second husband was George Ashford Andrews and their brood included George W., William Jesse, John M., Vina Jane Frances, Mary Angeline, Martha Margaret Ellen, and James Henry. JUSTUS(JUSTICE)/RUSSELL - Shannon RUSSELL born October 1876, died 1930. Mary Jane JUSTUS born July 1886, died March 1964, married about 1902. Children: Nellie Jane; Ruby Pearl; Jessee(f); Ralph; Walter; Bessie; Effie Mae; Fred; Sammie; Charles; Thomas; Thelma and Katherine. Mary Jane's parents: William and Kate/Sarah supposedly from Sevier County. Cannot find in census. Any help on this line appreciated.
