WEAR - I’m looking for information on John WEAR of Greene/Sevier County. He was b. in Bucks Co., PA. around 1740-1750. Served in the Revolutionary War, and received land in Greene County for his service. Oral family history claims he was brother to Col. Samuel WEAR who was son of Robert WEAR and Rebecca Carrell. His son, also named John WEAR, was 70 years old in 1850 Texas census, which makes him b. around 1780. He married Mary "Polly" Burns in Oct. 1802. I am a descendant of John and Mary. I would like to know if John WEAR, b.1740/50 in Bucks Co. and who lived and died in Greene/Sevier County was indeed brother to Col. Samuel WEAR. I have lots of descendant information to share.
