Listed in the 1850 and 1860 Sevier County, Tennessee Census with his brother Samuel.

James gave 800 acres to Cal McMahan.

The 1880 Sevier County Mortality Schedule lists Isaac as 68, Single, born in Tennessee, parents both born in Ireland, occupation farmer, died in April, died of pneumonia fever.

Buried in Shiloh Cemetery.
