Notes

Eleanor Carter was born in the Wood River Community. She was listed with her parents in the 1818 and 1820 State Census of Madison County and also the 1820 Federal Census of Madison County.

Eleanor moved with her parents from Madison County to Greene County, Illinois in 1820. They settled in Section 25, Township 11, Ragne 13 which is now Walkerville Township. She was listed under her parents in the 1830 and 1840 Federal Census of Greene County, Illinois.

Eleanor was listed as the head of household in the 1860 Federal Census of Greene County, Illinois. There were five children in the household: Thomas, age 15; Sarah E., age 10; Cyrus, age 10; Wisdom, age 8; and Margaret A., age 5.
