Thomas Step, Orange County, Virginia, removed to South Carolina about the commencement of the Ameriacan Revolution in very indigent circumstances and universally reported insolvent. Mrs. Agatha Sims, Albemarle, saw Thomas Step on his way to South Carolina. Her husband William Sims, deceased, paid some debts for him to prevent his being stopped on the road by his creditors. Mr. Sims' former wife was sister of Thomas Step.
