Notes

Robert Moss had dealings in several Virginia counties. In 1654, in addition to the land he received in Old Rappahonnock County, Robert was assessed for tobacco in York County. Robert made his will 8 August 1685 and it was proven 13 April 1689. It was signed by his son-in-law Abraham Stapp.

Attached to a deed made in 1665 was the following quote: 'The Mosses for generations were influential families in York County.'
