Notes

There is a John E. Montgomery born 15 March 1865 died 10 April 1865 buried in Catons Chapel Cemetery son of R.A. & Elizabeth.

They lived on the old Alexander Montgomery estate in Sevier County, Tennessee and raised a large family. He was a Captain in a Union Calvary company during the Civil War, and was recommended for promotion to Major by his commanding officer, Col. Jo Parsons of the 9th Regiment of Tennessee Calvary on 21 September 1963. He was greatly interested in the activities of old Shiloh Methodist Church during his entire long life.

Buried in Shiloh Cemetery.
