Lieutenant Samuel Huston is listed 31 July 1777 as an 'Associetor' in Captain James Samples' Sixth company, Third battalion, from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

In 1776, 1778, 1779, 1780, 1781 and 1782 Samuel Huston freeman was assessed in the township but with no property taxed against him.

Lieutenant Samuel Huston is buried in the Pine Hill Graveyard.
