Notes

George Columbus Lamon owned large mountain farms on the Big Ridge and the Gum Stand. He raised sheep, cattle, and cotton, and kept bees. He had a large apple orchard and grew many fields of corn and other vegetables. His cows grazed on the very hilly land. One of his cows fell out of the pasture and killed herself!

Buried in Beech Grove Church Cemetery.
