Notes
Apparently Robert McCarter died without issue. From the inventory book in Abbeville County, South Carolina, the final settlement of his estate was made on 26 March 1792 when John McCarter, Fleming Bates and Andrew Jones disposed of the estate of Robert McCarter and distributed the money among his brothers and sisters. It was recorded in Inventory Book No. 1, page 400, dated 4th November 1799, Abbeville County, South Carolina.
