John Maples and his family were listed in the 1790 Federal Census of Pendelton District, South Carolina; the 1810 and 1830 Federal Census of Grainger and Jefferson Counties, Tennessee. He was also listed in the 1809 Tax List of Grainger County, Tennessee.
