In the 'First Account Book of Thomas Amis' in Hawkins County, Tennessee, David Shultz was listed with date of the first account in 1788.
'North Carolina Land Grants in Tennessee 1778-1791', compiled by Betty Goff Cook Cartwright and Lillian Johnson Gardiner, shows that David Shultz received a land grant from the State of North Carolina for 50 acres entry on the 'waters of Honneycutts Creek' in the Eastern District of [East] Tennessee. This land was located in Hawkins County, Tennessee.
Family traditions say he moved to Kentucky. Later appeared in McNairy County, Tennessee where he probably died.
