The lot mentioned was in the present town of Westport, Massachusetts, and embraced what is now a part of the village of Westport Point. It was bounded easterly by the main road and westerly by the west branch of Westport River. This original farm of one hundred and forty or more acres has been considerably divided, but a part of the same was (in 1908) still in the possession of the Macomber family, being owned by Charles F. Macmober.
The Will of William Macomber, dated 10 April 1711, and probated 2 July 1711, names his wife Mary and all his children whose births are found in the town records of Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
