Notes

Otto III was 3 years old when his father died, he was crowned king of the Germans. His mother and grandmother ruled for him as regents. He spent his life in Italy and took little interest in ruling Germany. He tried, instead, to bring back the glories of ancient Rome. His death ended the direct line of Saxon emperors.
