The will of Jane Mateer, widow of William Mateer of Allen Twp., written 19 Aug. 1822, probated 22 March 1830, bequeathed all apparel to the daughters of step-son William Mateer, viz., Margaret and Mary Mateer; to William Mateer, son of step-son William Mateer, $30; one-half of the remaining estate to Rebecca Mateer, wife of step-son William Mateer, 'not subject to the disposal of her husband'; the other half to Rebecca's children, John, Margaret, Henry Wilson, and Mary. Executors: John Mateer Sr., James Dunlap, 'Guardians or Trustees of my step-son William Mateer'. Witnesses: James Johnson, Henry R. Wilson. John Mateer Jr. 'of William' was appointed Executor of this estate.
On 3 Sept. 1833 John Mateer, Administrator with will annexed on the Estate of Jane Mateer, widow of William Mateer late of Allen Twp. deceased, reported a balance of $20.98.25 for distribution.
