Notes

John B. Emert served in Company K, 2nd Tennessee Cavlrey in the Civil War. John B. and his wife Martha J. Mills were listed in the 1870 and 1880 Federal Census of Sevier County, Tennessee. There were no children in the household. It is said no children were born to this marriage.

John B. Emert was buried in the Middle Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.
