Family tradition says she 'lived with her sister, Rhoda in Alabama and later in Illinois. She died in 1844 at age of fifty-five years.' It was also said she did not marry.
The 1840 Federal Census of Macoupin County, Illinois verified the family tradition about her. Apparently she was the female between 50 and 60 years old in the household of James and Rhoda Ragan Huskey.
She died in Birds Township and was buried beside James and Rhoda Reagan Huskey in the Huskey Family Cemetery (now Joiner Cemetery) in Birds Township. The name on the tombstone is 'Jane Ragan'.
