Elisha's Civil War service was with the Union in Company H, 9th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry Volunteers. He enrolled 1 Oct 1863 at Sevierville Tennessee. From records in the National Archives: 'It has been determined from evidence before this Department that this soldier was captured by the enemy while on a pass from his command, and he is supposed to have been killed by them on, or about September 7, 1864.'
Elisha Ogle had a farm near the intersection of Parkway and Roaring Fork Road in Gatlinburg which he sold to Radford Gatlin.
