Notes

Serving the Union Army during the Civil War, George Washington enlisted 16 September 1862 Sevierville, Tennessee in Company I, 2nd Tennessee Cavalry. He received a 'gunshot wound of right hand at the Battle of Murfreesboro, Tennessee 2nd January 1863.' He was discharged 7 December 1864 at Madisonville, Indiana. His personal description at the time was: 5' 5' in height, fair complexion, sandy hair, and blue eyes.

Buried in Banner Cemetery.
