Notes

Known to all, local folks and tourists alike, as 'Aunt Sophia' and 'Uncle Tom', they were well known mountain characters. They lived in a log cabin on the mountain overlooking Gatlinburg (above the Ski Resort) in an area called the 'Dry Pond.' Buried in White Oak Flats Cemetery.

SMHS lists birth as 1857 and death as 1939.
