Notes

George L. Ragan grew up on the farm where he was listed with his parents in the 1840 and 1850 Federal Census of Madison County, Missouri.

Like his brother, he was not found in the 1860 Federal Census. He, too, is believed to have served during the Civil War. But, no records of his military service have been found.
